Jennifer McKinnon, MA, RCC
Registered Clinical Counsellor
I believe that it is important to find someone you can trust and has the necessary skills and experience to help you thrive in life.
Take the first step today and start feeling better tomorrow! I have helped clients go from a feeling of hopelessness in their current situation to feeling empowered and capable of making change that moves them in a positive direction in life. My clients are of all ages, struggling with issues such as anxiety, depression, anger, loss, abuse, stress, parent/child conflict and life transitions.
I specialize in working with clients who have experienced trauma and having difficulties coping. Whatever your struggles, it is important to find someone you can trust and has the necessary skills and experience to help you thrive in life.
For 18 years I have fostered children through the Ministry of Children and Family Development. This experience of working with children and adults who have suffered great trauma has given me a unique perspective when tackling problems and building the tools necessary to overcome the trauma that is interfering with their happiness.
I have extensive experience working with adopted families. My fostering background has given me great insights and understanding of the issues adopted families face. I will work with you to make sense of difficult feelings you may be experiencing and problem solve to develop more effective parenting skills, strategies, individual coping, and overall family functioning.
