Lorna Demedeiros, RSW
You are the expert of your own experience. You bring your Self to our work, just like I bring my Self. In meeting, we can explore areas of confusion and challenge in your relationship with yourself and others. We can find ways to activate the tools and healing you have within you.
Human beings are remarkably capable of healing through terrible circumstances. I am honoured to hear personal stories of struggle, and through listening, help others make sense of their experiences and reach their goals.
After completing my Bachelor degree at SFU, I began working with toddlers who have developmental disabilities. I then moved on to frontline work with teenagers who have mood and behaviour disorders at the Maples Adolescent Treatment Centre. This work inspired me to learn from families and young children, as I knew working with only one member of the family was not enough.
My Professional Bio
Master of Social Work Degree, Wilfrid Laurier University
Graduate Certificate in Complex Trauma and Childhood Sexual Abuse Intervention and Prevention, Justice Institute of British Columbia
Bachelor Degree in Psychology, Simon Fraser University
I am registered with the British Columbia College of Social Workers.
My Areas of Practice
I have been listening to children and families, and helping them, since 2012.
I provide in-person and virtual counselling for:
Parents – moms and/or dads adjusting to life with a new baby; parents struggling or grieving the loss of a child/miscarriage; post-partum struggles.

My Therapeutic Approach
I believe our work together is like building a puzzle. You are an expert in your own story. It’s my job to listen to you, learn from you, and help you put the pieces together. This could involve more than just one therapeutic approach.

Complex Care Interventions
