Shakiba Ahani-Masooleh, MC, RCC
Registered Clinical Counsellor
My greatest passion is in helping people. As a therapist for over 17 years, I am committed to providing a warm, safe and supportive environment so that my clients can explore the issues and challenges they face.
I strongly believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship in uncovering the strength that we all possess to bring the changes we desire in our lives.
I feel privileged to be able to offer my assistance to others on this shared journey and I commend you for reaching out for help to make things better.
My Professional Biography
I hold a Master of Counselling degree, a registration with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors as well as certificates in advanced education in trauma, addiction and mental health related issues.
Outside of private practice, I have worked as a therapist in non-profit agencies and mental health centres. My education and professional background have created a unique and effective approach to counselling.
I have extensive experience working with adolescents, adults, couples, groups and families with diverse backgrounds and range of concerns and issues.
My Counselling Approach
In my work, I use a combination of Cognitive-Behavioural, Dialectical-Behavioural, Strength & Solution Focus therapies, Family System, as well as Mindfulness Self-Compassion.
I tend to work mostly from a trauma approach that helps people overcome irrational and unhealthy thought processes and perceptions, that tend to prolong their emotional strain of depression and/or anxiety.
