Tony Knorr, RCC
I believe we all thrive when we have healthy connections. Positive changes come from relationships that are comfortable, safe, and empathetic. I believe this also to be the foundation of effective therapy. As such, building a healthy relationship is my first goal when working with a new client. Just as we thrive with healthy connections, in my experience, challenging or confusing times tend to feel lonely and isolated.
By providing a non-judgmental and caring ear to listen, I am confident that we can alleviate that isolating feeling together. We can work through your life’s stressors, determine the best ways to meet your individual needs, tap into your strengths, and fulfill your potential for joy, peace, and purpose.
I have an extensive athletic and physical fitness training background to accompany my mental health work history. The mind and the body will always be connected, so acknowledging that reality when trying to address life’s stressors is something that I always aim to do when providing service to others. As we explore your thoughts, feelings and needs, be assured that you will receive a holistic and evidenced-based perspective to achieve your therapeutic goals.
For fifteen years, I have worked with adults struggling with addictions and homelessness, 2SLGBTQ+ community members, youth struggling with family conflict, school challenges, and various mental health issues and parents seeking to improve their relationships with their teens. I take a client-centred approach based on my belief that you likely already know what is best for you but could use my help in drawing a map for how to get there.
I would be honoured to work with you as your therapist, and I assure you that you will experience an easy-going, authentically curious, and empathetic counsellor in return.
