Counselling Interns
Innova Therapy Inc. recognizes that many members of our community struggle with emotional issues, addictions, family conflict, grief, depression, anxiety, and more, but are unable to afford our regular professional fee.
For this reason, and to do our part to give back to the community, we have made available Counselling Associates & Interns who have finished their Masters program, or are about to graduate. These Counselling Associates and Interns are working to gain experience in counselling and work towards the 500-600 hours of practical experience they require to graduate, or to be registered.
In our province, the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) is the professional association that represents Registered Clinical Counsellors. The British Columbia College of Social Workers (BCCSW) is the professional association that represents Registered Social Workers.
Counselling Associates and Interns are supervised by experienced counsellors who provide advice and guidance.

Celina Jensen, Counselling Intern | Innova Therapy Coquitlam & Online
Celina is currently completing her Master of Counselling Psychology degree through Yorkville University. Celina also holds a Master of Conflict, Security and Development from King’s College, London, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia.
Before entering the counselling field, Celina spent nearly two decades working in child protection with the United Nations and international aid organizations. Her work focused on supporting children and families affected by war, trauma, and displacement – experiences that profoundly shaped her understanding of resilience, healing, and the complexity of the human experience.
During her internship with Innova, Celina will be supervised by seasoned counsellor, Bart Begalka, RCC.
